Hello all,

I recently had my car in for an oil change (~44k miles) and the mechanic noted pink crusty residue near the water pump indicating it was time to be replaced. Based on the quote they provided ($4400!!!), I will likely do this replacement myself. While I understand there is a fairly in-depth disassembly process related to this repair, I think I should be able to tackle it. I am a mechanical design engineer with quite a bit of wrenching experience (highly modified turbo miata track car). I have a few questions before I dive in:

1) Is there a way for me to determine if my VIN is covered by the extended water pump warranty? The dealer seemed clueless on this. 44k seems a bit premature for water pump failure, even on an Audi.
2) Is removing the entire front clip 100% necessary or does it just make access much easier? I saw a youtube video recommending putting it into "service mode" or something to that effect.
3) Will I need to recalibrate the front facing radar after bumper removal? If so, is this something I could perform with an Autel diagnostic tablet (model number: MK808S)?
4) I plan to order the parts from FCP euro, what other "while you're in there's" should I be replacing? The dealer quote mentioned "replacing water pump, thermostat, thermo-regulating shut off valve and solenoids". I just recently replaced the solenoid near the valve cover that modulates the diaphragm on the water pump which fixed a "coolant temp too high" message on the dash.
5) Where can I get a copy of the factory service manual?

Thanks in advance for the help!
